I am making good progress on my reading and writing for my promised ‘Nutrition’ post. But in the meantime something more urgent has come up that I need to let raise with you.
I am an “ambassador” for Dry July, a non-profit organisation determined to improve the lives of adults living with cancer through an online social community giving up booze for the month of July.
The purpose of the Dry July campaign is to directly benefit adult cancer patients with real and tangible change by providing funds to create better environments and support networks for patients and their families. At the same time it aims to raise awareness of drinking habits and the value of a balanced healthy lifestyle.
This is an initiative that has been very successful in Australia. We aim to make our NZ campaign even more successful (based on a set of KPIs known only to a secret subset of ambassadors!).
It deserves your support. Someone in your family has or will likely experience a cancer “event” at sometime. The money raised from this campaign will improve outcomes for them.
I am a bit late out of the blocks but would like to make a determined burst to join the leading pack of fundraisers. On that score don’t worry about the late start. I have arranged a special “carve out” for my late starters!
So I am hoping that you do the following:
- First, click to the following link and make a donation: https://nz.dryjuly.com/profile/robcameron
- Next forward my email to your friends, family and even remote acquaintances.
- Last, use the social media buttons on the Dry July website to spread the message.
Thanks for any support you can direct my way-but really to current and potential cancer patients in NZ.
